Dear Mr. God

Have you watched the movie "Letters to God"?  If you havn't, I would encourage you to.  I've watched it twice now, and could watch it many more and still cry.  I don't know if I cry so much because I'm at a point in my life where I realize I should be communicating with God even more than I already am or if it's because I know a little boy fighting a hard battle with cancer (Aidan), but the movie has touched me beyond what words could even attempt to describe.

After seeing the movie the first time, I wanted to share it with the middle school youth group I lead.  I found a great 3 week curriculum based on the movie and we watched the first half last of the movie night.  They'll watch the rest of the movie next Sunday and for the following 3 weeks, we'll do a study based around the movie. At the end of the series, Mike and I will have a surprise for the students (can't reveal it here because some of them might read this post!) on how they can personally further the theme of writing letters to God.

One of the songs used in the movie is The Warren Brothers, "Dear Mr. God"  I've listened to this song more times than I can count this weekend.  It's one of those songs that really makes you think.  Take a listen and let me know what you think:
