This past weekend while Mike and I were in heaven... I mean Tennessee... a friend of mine asked how I get my inspiration for what I write about. It always seems like when there's something going on and I've got a lesson to learn from it, God gives me what to write about.
So I've been thinking on what to write about since we got home from TN. So many things to write about. Mike and I had such an amazing time while we were down there. We ate, and ate, and ate (we were in my favorite state - we had to partake in their delicious cooking!) saw some dear friends, hiked, enjoyed God's natural beauty, worshipped with friends, and spent some quality time together. Although we did a lot it seems, mainly we rested.
Mark 6:31 tells us that Jesus said to his apostles "Come off by yourselves; let's take a break and get a little rest." For there was constant coming and going. They didn't even have time to eat. (The Message)
That seems like the story of my life. Constantly coming and going between work, photography, and church. And soon to add to that mix Mike heading back to school. So this past weekend was a weekend to get away from it all and rest. To be together. Just us and God. (And a few friends along the way.) It was perfect.
When was the last time that you shut off the world's distractions and just rested and spent time with God?
