Mike got to hang out with the guys from one of his favorite bands, Needtobreathe, on Thursday. They were coming in studio to tape interviews with both of our morning shows, and the producer needed someone to go pick the guys up from their concert venue and drive them back to the studios, so Mike offered.
Here's a pic of Mike and I with 3 of the 4 band members:

Now, for those of you who know Mike, you know he's pretty quiet and reserved. But he made some friends with the guys during their 2 hour visit (and trip to Guitar Center) I was so happy he was able to drive the guys around. It was the least I could do for him, seeing all he's done for me since I took the job :-)
Later Thursday night, we went to their concert. It was an awesome show, and they ended it in probably one of the coolest ways I've EVER seen at a concert. On the very last song, Bear, the lead singer said from the stage that they were going to do everything without the sound system. (The venue only held about 450 people, so it wasn't huge...) So the guys in the band all move to the very front of the stage, all the lights go out except for some spotlights on the guys, and they start singing. It was amazing! The drummer was using the box he was sitting on to "drum". Here's the video I took with my iPhone:
At the end of the concert, Bo, one of the guys in the band, waved to Mike from the stage to say goodbye. I looked at Mike and he had the BIGGEST smile on his face!
